Frase Review 2026: A Rebuilt SEO and GEO Agent, With Strict Billing Terms
Frase was rebuilt from the ground up and relaunched in January 2026, per its own replies to reviewers. The new Frase is an agent-driven content platform: it audits your site, finds content opportunities, drafts and scores articles for SEO, GEO and E-E-A-T, publishes to your CMS, tracks whether ChatGPT and other AI engines mention you, and drafts fixes when a page loses rank. Plans run $49 to $299 a month, or $39 to $239 billed yearly, with a 7-day trial and no card. The catch is commercial: Frase's terms say all fees are final with no refunds. This review checks Frase's pricing page, help docs and terms as of Oct 4, 2026.

| Made by | Frase, Inc. |
| Category | SEO, GEO and AI visibility |
| Trial | 7 days, no credit card |
| Cheapest paid | $49/mo Starter, or $39 billed yearly |
| Trustpilot | 3.7 from 63 reviews |
One of the most complete SEO plus AI-search content loops for small teams. Judge the new product, not the old reviews, and mind the billing terms.
"If you publish content every week and want one tool to audit, write, score, publish and watch for decay, Frase's Professional plan covers the whole loop. Use the full 7-day trial hard, because Frase's terms give no refunds after you pay."
Here is how I read it. The new Frase is not the old content-brief tool. It now runs a loop: site audit, content opportunities from your own Google Search Console data, an agent that researches and drafts in your brand voice, scores for SEO, GEO and E-E-A-T, one-click publishing to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity, Wix or its own FraseCMS, AI Visibility tracking, and Content Guard, which drafts a fix when a page slips. Starter stops at its limits instead of billing overages, which is honest pricing. The risks: its Trustpilot history is mixed and partly from before the rebuild, longtime lifetime-deal buyers feel abandoned, and the terms say fees are final. This is an editorial review based on Frase's official pricing page, help docs and terms (as of Oct 4, 2026) and public user reviews; it is not a hands-on test.
Listen, create, publish, optimize, fix: one agent across the content loop.
Frase describes itself as a content operating system for AI search. You connect your site, brand details and Google Search Console; Frase audits pages, suggests what to write next, drafts and scores articles, publishes them, then monitors Google rankings and AI-engine mentions. A free widget, Frase Answers, can sit on your site and capture the questions visitors ask.

Rebuilt platform, per Frase's Trustpilot replies.
| Option | Built around | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Frase | One agent across research, writing, publishing and decay fixes | Smaller data set than big SEO suites; mixed review history |
| Large SEO suites | Keyword, backlink and rank data | Writing and publishing are secondary |
| AI writing tools | Fast drafting | Little SEO data or monitoring |
| AI-visibility trackers | Monitoring AI answers | No writing or publishing |
Recent reviewers praise the new platform; older and lifetime-deal customers are angry.
One reviewer singled out the AI Visibility tracker for showing rankings across AI engines such as Google's AI Overview and Claude (Aug 14). Another said the product has changed substantially and now beats competitors on breadth (Sep 4). A third called the generated content "usually spot on" as a starting point and the tool easy to use (Sep 1).
A longtime lifetime-deal buyer said the rebuild was placed behind a new subscription while lifetime users kept the old version (updated Feb 2026); Frase replied that it offered discounted access to its LTD community. Another said lifetime customers got little more than an apology (Jun 30). A third said 10 lifetime accounts bought through AppSumo stopped working (Apr 3).
A January 2026 reviewer said the AI writer looped the same text and cheaper tools exist. Another reported paying a monthly plan for seven months unused with no renewal reminder (Nov 2024). Frase's replies, dated Feb 20, 2026, say the platform was rebuilt in January 2026 and that support was handling unusually high volume during the transition.

Decide by how many sites you run and how much you publish.
Starter; it stops at its limits, so no surprise bill.
Professional: calendar, internal linking, 40 articles.
Scale for 10 domains and exportable reports.
Enterprise only.
A large SEO suite fits better.

Every draft gets three 0 to 100 scores with fixes you can apply in one click.
Frase scores each article on SEO (on-page best practices, keyword coverage), GEO (how easily AI systems such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews can extract and cite it) and E-E-A-T (expertise, authority and trust signals such as author bios and citations). Scores update as you edit, are colored red, yellow or green, and come with suggestions, some of which apply automatically. Frase's docs call an SEO score in the 70 to 85+ range "generally solid" and advise not to chase perfect 100s. Keywords only count when they appear as whole words.

- Scores cover Google and AI answers in one place.
- Suggestions are specific and partly one-click.
- The docs discourage chasing 100s.
- A high GEO score is not a citation; Frase says rankings and citations build over weeks.
- Frase will not promise a ranking within a 7-day trial, per its pricing FAQ.
- Older reviews criticized the AI writer's quality.
Audit, pick, draft, score, approve, publish, watch.

Audits crawl up to your plan's page limit and group findings as Critical, Warnings and Opportunities; they also flag keyword cannibalization. If your site uses Cloudflare, Frase's docs say you may need to allow its crawler.
The agent can publish on its own; Content Guard waits for you by default.
On every plan, you can let the Frase agent draft and auto-publish any content type, limited only by your monthly articles. Content Guard is separate: when a guarded page drops in Google, Frase drafts better titles, headings and internal links, and nothing changes until you approve unless an admin picks "Auto-apply safe fixes only" or an Advanced rule. Content Guard needs the article to be created in Frase, published to a live URL, and Google Search Console connected.

For AI tools, Frase offers an MCP server (in the Claude connector directory, or as an npm package for ChatGPT, Cursor and others; ChatGPT needs a Business, Enterprise or Edu plan), a CLI and a REST API with 50+ endpoints. New to MCP? See the JAVIS Claude MCP and Connectors guide.

Publishes to four CMSs, or hosts your blog on FraseCMS.

| FraseCMS Basic | $19/mo: 250,000 page views, subdomain or subdirectory, no badge |
| FraseCMS Pro | $99/mo: 1,000,000 page views, 500 GB |

Predictable limits, but the terms are strict.
| Rule | What Frase says |
|---|---|
| Refunds | Terms: "All fees paid are final, and we do not provide any refunds." |
| Term and renewal | Terms: initial term of one year "(or other initial term stated on the applicable order form)", renewing automatically unless either side gives notice at least 30 days before the end |

| Plan changes | Upgrades prorated immediately; downgrades at the next billing cycle |
| Price changes | Terms: Frase may change pricing at any time |
| Non-payment | Account may be suspended 30 days after notice |
No training of general models on your data, but a broad license in the terms.

| Security | SOC 2 Type II attested; GDPR compliant; encrypted at rest and in transit |

Best for small content teams and agencies who want one loop instead of four tools.
| Situation | Why Frase fits or not | Likely plan |
|---|---|---|
| Solo blogger or freelancer | Full loop on one site with no overage risk | Starter |
| In-house content team | Calendar, internal links, 3 seats, 5 sites | Professional |
| Agency with client sites | 10 domains, roles, exportable reports | Scale |
| White-label agency | Client portal and white-label reports | Enterprise |
| Backlink or rank-tracking heavy SEO | Not Frase's center of gravity | An SEO suite |
| Old lifetime-deal holder | Legacy app still works; migration optional | Check the migration guide |
Six real gaps, not manufactured ones.
Terms say all fees paid are final.
A one-year default term in the terms versus "switch anytime" on the site.
Early buyers say the rebuild sits behind a new subscription.
Reporting shows current data only; 3 months needs Professional.
Starter tracks only ChatGPT and Google AI; Claude and Gemini need Scale.
3.7 on Trustpilot versus a vendor-cited 4.8 elsewhere.
Frase wins on one connected loop. Others win on raw SEO data or general writing.

Does Frase give refunds?

What happens when I hit a limit?
Starter stops until the cycle resets or you upgrade. Professional and Scale can turn on optional pay-as-you-go overages, billed at the end of the cycle.

Its terms say it does not use Customer Data to train generalized AI models across customers, though it may use aggregated, de-identified data.
Can I use Frase from Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes, through its MCP server on every plan; ChatGPT needs a Business, Enterprise or Edu plan for custom connectors, per Frase's docs.
I have a Frase lifetime deal. Do I have to switch?
No. Frase's migration guide says moving to the new app is optional, the legacy app stays at app.frase.io, and there is no deadline at this time.
