Divi Review 2026: Unlimited Sites From $89 a Year, but Read the Divi 5 and AI Agent Fine Print First
Divi is Elegant Themes' WordPress theme and visual page builder, and one membership covers as many websites as you like. On Oct 26, 2026 it cost $89 a year or $249 once for life, and the rebuilt Divi 5 has been the official version since Feb 26, 2026. The catches sit around it: the new Divi AI Agent is metered, with $5 of usage a month before you top up a wallet; Elegant Themes' own pages give three different savings figures for the Divi Pro bundle; and moving an older Divi 4 site to Divi 5 is a one-way migration that the vendor tells you to rehearse on a staging copy.

| Made by | Elegant Themes, Inc., Sonoma, California; founder and CEO Nick Roach |
| What it is | WordPress theme plus visual builder, with optional AI, cloud library, team seats and faster support |
| Plans | Divi $89/yr or $249 lifetime; Divi Pro $277/yr, or $297 lifetime plus $212/yr |
| Sites | Unlimited on every plan; one API key can be reused |
| Best for | Freelancers and small agencies building many WordPress sites |
If you build several WordPress sites a year, Divi's unlimited-site licence is very good value. Buy the theme on its own merits, treat the AI Agent as a metered extra, and keep your licence active for security updates.
“Yes, you are free to use Divi, and all of our themes and plugins, to build as many websites as you like for yourself and your clients.”
That answer from Elegant Themes' pricing FAQ is the core of the deal, and it holds up. The $89 yearly plan and the $249 lifetime plan both include Divi, the Extra theme, the Bloom and Monarch plugins and the Divi Dash site manager on unlimited websites, and the help center adds that you can reuse one API key across all of them. Among the builders priced later in this review (Elementor, Bricks, Beaver Builder and Breakdance), no paid unlimited-site plan costs less than Divi's $89 a year on Oct 26, 2026 (Breakdance also has a free tier), and only Bricks also sells a lifetime licence.
The catches are newer. Divi 5, a ground-up rebuild that drops Divi's old shortcode format, became the official version on Feb 26, 2026 and has shipped 41 releases since. That pace brings features and fixes, and it also shows in the reviews: the newest one- and two-star Trustpilot reviews on Oct 26, 2026 were mostly about Divi 5 bugs and migration problems. Divi AI is sold as “unlimited”, but since the September 2026 Terms update its headline new feature, the AI Agent, runs on a $5 monthly allowance and a prepaid wallet charged per token. And Elegant Themes' own pages describe the Divi Pro bundle's savings as 58%, 69% and 75% in different places.
One theme-and-builder licence, with four paid services and an AI wallet wrapped around it.
Divi itself is two things in one download: a WordPress theme and the Divi Builder, a visual editor you use on the front end of the page. The membership also includes the Theme Builder (headers, footers and templates), hundreds of premade layouts, the separate Divi Builder plugin for use with other themes, the Extra theme, the Bloom email opt-in plugin, the Monarch social sharing plugin and Divi Dash, a dashboard for updating many WordPress sites. Around that core, Elegant Themes sells four subscriptions: Divi AI, Divi Cloud (a cloud library for layouts), Divi VIP (faster support) and Divi Teams (seats for colleagues and clients). Divi Pro bundles all four with Divi. Hosting is not included: “The Divi memberships do not come with hosting,” per the pricing FAQ.
Divi 5 changed the foundation. Elegant Themes says it “started over and completely reinvented Divi”, replacing the shortcode storage that Divi 4 used with a block-based format, a new builder interface, design variables, presets, CSS grid and flexbox layout controls and a loop builder. If you have seen screenshots of Divi from a few years ago, the builder below is what it looks like now.

Elegant Themes links this pricing walkthrough from the top of its pricing page, which is the quickest way to hear the vendor explain its plans in its own words:
“Divi Pricing Overview”, official Elegant Themes YouTube channel (@elegantthemes), linked as “Learn about our pricing” on elegantthemes.com/join. It is the vendor's explanation; the prices in this review are the ones on the page on Oct 26, 2026.

Divi 5 went official, the AI Agent arrived with a wallet, the Terms were rewritten twice, and Divi 4 got a longer runway.
If you last looked at Divi in 2024, four things are different. On Jan 14, 2026, founder and CEO Nick Roach announced that Divi 5 would leave beta on Feb 26, noting that “40% of our customers are already choosing it.” Version 5.0.1 shipped that day, and by Oct 22, 2026 the help center's changelog listed version 5.17. On Sep 3, 2026, Divi 5.12 “Introduced AI Agents”, the chat panel in the builder now sold as the Divi AI Agent, after the Terms of Service had been revised on Aug 18 and again on Sep 2, 2026 to add an AI Wallet with usage-based pricing. And the promise to Divi 4 users grew: the January post promised Divi 4 support for at least six months after the Divi 5 release, while the migration guide updated in September says at least 12 months.

The same announcement is also a video on Elegant Themes' channel, embedded in that post:
“Divi 5 Official Release Date”, official Elegant Themes YouTube channel (@elegantthemes), embedded in the Jan 14, 2026 blog post of the same name.
The release pace since then is fast. The help center's “Divi 5 Update Status” page lists 41 Divi 5 versions between Feb 26 and Oct 22, 2026, a release about every six days on average. Frequent updates are good for fixes and new features, and they also mean a client site needs someone to apply and check them.

A big vendor-reported customer base and a large add-on market, but independent usage figures for the Divi theme are thin.
Elegant Themes says 974,872 customers have joined, a counter it shows on its homepage and pricing page; the Divi product page says “over 1,000,000 customers” in another block. Both are vendor counts of accounts, not of active websites or paying subscribers. The company's About page lists 106 team members. It calls Divi “the most popular WordPress Theme in the world”; none of the independent sources in this review measures that claim, so treat it as marketing.
The one independent usage figure available needs care. W3Techs, which surveys the technology behind websites, lists “Divi Builder” at 0.1% of WordPress sites on Oct 25, 2026, against Elementor at 31.5%, WPBakery at 7.3%, Beaver Builder at 1.0% and Bricks at 0.4%. W3Techs' page does not say whether its Divi Builder entry covers sites running the Divi theme or only the standalone Divi Builder plugin, so we do not read it as Divi's market share. For scale, the same page says WordPress runs on 39.6% of all websites.

The clearest sign of Divi's reach is its add-on economy. The Divi Marketplace sells third-party child themes, extensions and layouts, and its own counters showed best sellers such as Divi Supreme Pro with 16,060 sales and Divi Plus with 12,774 on Oct 26, 2026. Divi is also absent from the WordPress.org theme directory: you download it from your Elegant Themes account, not from inside WordPress.

Glowing support reviews at scale, and a loud minority unhappy with Divi 5's bugs and learning curve.
On Oct 26, 2026 Trustpilot showed Elegant Themes at 4.7 (“Excellent”) from 25,042 reviews, the same count Elegant Themes displays in its homepage widget. Two labels on the profile matter for reading that score. It carries a “Paid Trustpilot subscription” label, and Trustpilot notes: “This company hasn't invited customers recently, so reviews may not be representative.” Trustpilot also says the company replied to 88% of negative reviews. Five of the six newest reviews that day were five-star notes about fast support replies, one of them thanking two support staff by name. So the headline score largely measures support conversations, not the builder.
| Signal | What it showed on Oct 26, 2026 |
|---|---|
| Trustpilot score | 4.7, “Excellent”, 25,042 reviews; profile claimed since September 2017 |
| Trustpilot labels | Paid Trustpilot subscription; no recent invitations; replied to 88% of negative reviews |
| Six newest reviews | Five 5-star reviews about quick support replies; one 2-star review calling Divi complicated |
| Newest 1 and 2-star page | 20 reviews from Feb 26 to Oct 22, 2026; most about Divi 5 bugs, the new interface, support or plugin compatibility |
| Hacker News | Few threads; developers mostly critical of page builders in general, Divi included |
From the Trustpilot profile for www.elegantthemes.com and its one- and two-star filter, and Hacker News comments from 2024 to 2026. Trustpilot reviews are summarized, not quoted.

The low-star reviews from 2026 cluster tightly. Reviewers who liked Divi 4 describe Divi 5 as buggy; others report CSS problems after specific updates, conflicts with WPML or Yoast, an interface overhaul that hid familiar settings, and support answers from an AI assistant before a human. One long-time customer was refused a refund after leaving Divi, which matches the written 30-day rule. Hacker News, where readers are mostly developers, rarely discusses Divi directly, and when it does the tone is the classic developer complaint about page builders: heavy markup, hard-to-maintain inherited sites and custom CSS friction. Hacker News reflects that crowd, not Divi's main buyers.
“Just saving a blog post is capable of putting the entire website in an unrecoverable condition”
“Divi, another WordPress WYSIWYG builder also was bad for adding custom CSS for a long time.”
“I like it, it saves a ton of time.”
“I migrated two live sites so far but after a few Divi updates had to roll them back to Divi 4 versions.”
Support agents answered quickly, even on a weekend, and fixed problems in one conversation (our summary, not a quote).
Divi 5 bugs, a harder interface, plugin conflicts and refunds refused after 30 days (our summary, not a quote).
The testimonials on Elegant Themes' own Divi 5 page deserve a footnote too: the people quoted run businesses that sell Divi add-ons, child themes or Divi training. Their enthusiasm is genuine evidence that the ecosystem has moved to Divi 5, but they are not neutral users. Praise centers on support, value for many sites and Divi 5's modern design tools. Frustration centers on Divi 5 stability, migration and complexity. Churn trigger: a broken update on a client site, or a renewal you no longer need.

Three savings figures for one bundle
How much does Divi Pro save? It depends which Elegant Themes page you read. The pricing cards say “SAVE 69%”, the pricing FAQ says the bundle is “saving you 58% on Divi and our full suite of services”, and a banner on the Divi 5 page offers the ecosystem “for 75% OFF with Divi Pro”. The 69% matches the cards' own arithmetic ($611 off a stated $888 yearly value). The published prices do not add up to $888, though: buying Divi and the four services separately on yearly billing comes to $498, so Divi Pro saves $221, or about 44%, against prices you can actually pay.
| Elegant Themes page | Divi Pro savings claim |
|---|---|
| Pricing cards (/join, /ai, /divi-cloud, /vip, /teams) | “SAVE 69%”, $611 off a $888 value |
| Pricing FAQ and the Divi 5 page's bottom panel | 58% |
| Divi 5 page ecosystem banner | 75% off |
| JAVIS sum of yearly list prices | $498 separately vs $277 bundled = 44% |

That last panel contains a useful rule: “If you purchase the Divi annual subscription today, you can always upgrade to lifetime at a later date for the difference in price.” Starting yearly does not lock you out of the lifetime price.
A note on timing. Elegant Themes' help center still carries its articles on the 2025 Black Friday sale, which ran from Nov 25 to Nov 30, 2025 and offered: “Save 80% when purchasing Divi Pro or a Divi Pro Bundle.” The same article invited existing customers to rebundle and “lock in the Black Friday discount forever”, and warned that “Previously purchased subscriptions are not prorated on any new purchases.” We have no information about a 2026 sale. If you are deciding in late October and are not in a hurry, that history is worth knowing.

Lifetime pays for itself in year three; Divi Pro is cheaper than Divi plus Divi AI; the AI Agent is the open-ended line.
These examples are arithmetic on Elegant Themes' list prices on Oct 26, 2026, before any tax. They assume renewals stay at today's price, which the Pro checkout states but nothing guarantees for future years, and they leave out hosting, which you buy elsewhere.
Swipe sideways to see every column.
| Setup | Year 1 | Each later year | 5-year total | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A. Divi yearly | $89 | $89 | $445 | Lifetime ($249) is cheaper from year 3 ($267) |
| B. Divi Lifetime | $249 | $0 | $249 | Updates and support for life |
| C. Divi yearly + Divi AI yearly | $282 | $282 | $1,410 | Costs more than Divi Pro, which adds Cloud, VIP and seats |
| D. Divi Pro yearly | $277 | $277 | $1,385 | Pro minus Divi = $188 for four services |
| E. Lifetime + Pro | $297 | $212 | $1,145 to $1,357 | Lower figure if the first year of services is inside the $297 |
| F. Lifetime + Divi AI only | $442 | $193 | $1,214 | For a solo user who wants AI but not VIP or seats |
What the numbers say. If you expect to use Divi for three years or more, the $249 lifetime licence is the cheapest Divi plan over that period, and it keeps updates and support coming, which matters for security (see security). If you want Divi AI, Divi Pro is the better buy than adding Divi AI to a Divi plan: $277 against $282, with Cloud, VIP and four seats thrown in. That matches the help center's own line that Pro includes the services “for less than you would typically pay for Divi AI alone”, since Pro minus Divi is $188 and Divi AI alone is $193.
What the cards leave unclear. The Lifetime + Pro card says “$297 Today” and “Only pay $212 per year for Pro Services”, but it does not say whether the $297 already covers the first year of services. The help center says only that the bundle “will have a recurring yearly cost for the Pro Services.” Check the order summary at checkout before you pay; the five-year cost is $1,145 or $1,357 depending on the answer.
A team example. An eight-person agency on Divi Pro uses the four included seats and buys four more at $18 each: $277 + $72 = $349 a year for everyone to have Divi, the AI tools, the cloud library and VIP support. The AI Agent balance is tied to the Elegant Themes account, per the billing article, and the pages do not say how it works across Divi Teams seats; the help center also recommends logging out of the agent before handing a site to a client.
The AI Agent line. The agent's $5 a month resets on your renewal date and does not roll over. Beyond that, you prepay an AI Wallet, and each request is charged by the tokens the chosen model reads and writes. Elegant Themes says that “On average, generating an entire custom layout costs less than five cents,” which would mean more than 100 layouts a month from the allowance; that is the vendor's average, not a guarantee. The Divi AI section works through what a request costs on different models.
A generous refund and keep-forever licence, wrapped in a $100 liability cap, mandatory arbitration and a non-refundable AI wallet.
Elegant Themes' Terms of Service were last revised on Sep 2, 2026. The help center articles quoted below range from 2018 to September 2026; where they disagree with newer pages, we say so.
1. Refunds: 30 days, no questions, renewals included
The pricing FAQ promises “no-questions-asked refunds to all customers within 30 days of your purchase”, and the help center extends that to renewals: Elegant Themes has a “no questions asked 30 day refund policy that includes renewal charges.” That makes a forgotten auto-renewal fixable for a month. Two details trip people up. Cancelling is not a refund request: “Canceling your subscription does not automatically initiate a refund under our 30-day refund policy,” so you ask through the support chat or by email. And since September 2026 the Terms exclude AI usage: “The thirty (30) day refund policy below does not apply to funds that have already been spent on AI usage.”

2. Cancel, and Divi keeps working, without updates
This is Divi's friendliest rule. If you cancel a yearly plan, your account stays active to the end of the term, then “you will lose access to the members area and all new themes, theme updates and tech support. You may continue using the themes that you have already downloaded forever.” Sites built with Divi do not go dark. The help center adds the honest caveat: “We cannot guarantee how long older versions of our products will work as other parts of your site or platform can change.” In practice, a site on an expired licence stops receiving security fixes through the WordPress updater, which in 2026 included several (see security).

3. The licence: unlimited sites, GPL code, membership for everything else
The Terms state that “Our WordPress themes and plugins are released under the GNU Public License version 2.0.” The GPL governs the code. What the membership sells is access: downloads from the members area, automatic updates through an API key, support, layouts and the paid services. There is no site-activation limit to manage, because “You are free to use the same API key on multiple websites,” and you can create, label and deactivate separate keys per client in your account. The Terms also forbid reselling or sharing the account itself: you “may not resell, rent, sublicense or otherwise permit a third party to make any use of your account”.

Lifetime has one boundary worth reading twice. The help center says the lifetime option covers the themes and plugins and that “A lifetime plan option is unavailable for our Pro Services (like Divi AI).” A lifetime buyer who later wants AI, cloud storage or VIP support pays for those every year.

4. Liability, arbitration and termination
The Terms cap Elegant Themes' liability in any circumstance at $100: it “SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL SUM OF $100.00.” Disputes go to individual arbitration, “settled by arbitration in San Francisco, California”, with a class action and jury waiver, and any claim must be brought within one year. Elegant Themes may also terminate access “for any or no reason”, and a breach can mean termination “without any refund.” None of this is unusual for a software subscription, and some of it may not hold where local consumer law says otherwise, as the Terms themselves acknowledge; we are not lawyers.

5. Where Elegant Themes' own pages disagree
Several of Elegant Themes' pages contradict each other or have not caught up with the product. None of these is a reason to avoid Divi, but each is a reason to confirm the detail that matters to you before you buy.
| Topic | One page says | Another page says |
|---|---|---|
| Divi AI Agent usage | AI Agent page: “One subscription covers unlimited AI usage for you and your team across the builder and WordPress admin.” | Help center: “The Agent is included with your subscription, but its usage is not unlimited.” |
| Divi Pro savings | Pricing cards: 69% | Pricing FAQ: 58%; Divi 5 banner: 75% |
| Divi 4 support | Blog, Jan 14, 2026: at least six months after Divi 5's release | Migration guide, Sep 18, 2026: at least 12 months |
| Support channel | Terms: support via the “Elegant Themes Support Forum, a public support ticketing system” | Support page: 24/7 chat and email, with replies to your email |
| Customers | Pricing page: 974,872 | Divi page: “over 1,000,000 customers” |
| Speed claims | Divi 5 page: sites that “score 100 on Google Page Speed on all devices” | Performance page methodology: “Tests were performed on August 10th, 2021”, before Divi 5 existed |
| AI image rights | Divi AI FAQ: a “royalty free license to use the images you generate” | Terms: “Content that is generated by artificial intelligence may not be protected by copyright.” |

Match your situation to one line.
A rebuilt visual builder with design variables, presets, grid layouts and loops, sold on speed claims that need your own test.
Divi 5 is the reason to look at Divi again in 2026. Elegant Themes says it rebuilt the product “from the ground up” on a new code base, with “No more shortcodes”: “Divi saves content in a block-based format, opening up new possibilities for Gutenberg cross-compatibility.” On top of that sits a modern design system: class-style presets that update everywhere when you edit them, global variables for colors, sizes and fonts that Divi can generate as scales, relative color variables, a Theme Builder for templates, a loop builder that can query posts, products and Advanced Custom Fields data, CSS grid and flexbox layout controls, seven customizable breakpoints, an Inspector for bulk style changes, Canvases for off-canvas content, interactions and a keyboard-driven Command Center. Upgrading is free for members.

The speed claim
The Divi 5 page says its Dynamic Framework and Dynamic Assets make it “easy to create super-fast websites that score 100 on Google Page Speed on all devices”, and shows two perfect scores. It does not show a test date, a URL or the hosting used. The older Speed & Performance page does publish a method, and it is from another era: a demo hosted on SiteGround with Cloudflare, with “Tests were performed on August 10th, 2021 using Google PageSpeed Insights”. A score of 100 on a lean demo page tells you the framework can be fast; it does not tell you how a real client site with plugins, fonts and images will score. Run PageSpeed Insights on the live demo and on a staging copy of your own site before you rely on it.

Moving a Divi 4 site to Divi 5
For the many sites still on Divi 4, the migration guide is the document to read first. It is candid. You run the Divi 5 Migrator, which scans pages, posts, custom post types, Theme Builder templates, WooCommerce products, library items, widgets and presets, converts what it can and wraps unsupported modules in a backward-compatibility layer. The guide warns that “migration bugs can exist on complex or customized sites” and asks you to back up and use a staging site first. It also notes that “Switching from Divi 4 to Divi 5 is a one-way update via the Migrator”: a restore function exists right after migration, but the longer you edit on Divi 5, the harder a clean rollback becomes.

Two details matter for performance and planning. First, legacy content still costs speed: “If a page contains even one legacy module, the entire page loads the Divi 4 framework.” Sites that depend on third-party Divi 4 modules will not see Divi 5's speed gains on those pages until the add-on vendors update. Second, the Divi 4 runway has grown. In January, Elegant Themes promised support “for at least an additional six months” after the Divi 5 release, after which Divi 4 sites would get the Divi 5 update notice. The September guide says at least 12 months, which points to Feb 26, 2027 at the earliest, and Divi 4 was still receiving releases in 2026 (4.27.8 on Aug 19 and 4.27.9 on Sep 18).

Divi Quick Sites
Quick Sites is Divi's site generator: describe a business and Divi AI writes the pages, images and menus, or pick a hand-made Starter Site and set your fonts and colors. Elegant Themes promises an entire site “In 2 Minutes”, built on global styles and Theme Builder templates, and it can install and configure WooCommerce for a store. Starter Sites need only a membership; AI-generated sites need Divi AI, which the help center lists as including “Divi Quick Sites full website generation”.

“Introducing Divi Quick Sites (Including AI Website Creation)”, official Elegant Themes YouTube channel (@elegantthemes), embedded on elegantthemes.com/quick-sites and /ai. The video predates Divi 5; the generator itself is current.
Two AI products under one name: unlimited generation inside fields, and a metered agent that edits your site for you.
Divi AI started as in-builder tools: write or rewrite text in any language, generate and edit images (prompts must be in English), write CSS and code “fine-tuned on the Divi module codebase”, and generate sections, pages and whole Quick Sites. That part is a flat subscription. The help center states the deal plainly: “If you have heard Divi AI described as unlimited, that refers to the first list. The Agent is included with your subscription, but its usage is not unlimited.” Generation is still “subject to our fair use policy”. Members without a subscription get a free trial that “can only be used 100 times, regardless of how many websites you have”, and the trial does not cover the agent.

The AI Agent
The Divi AI Agent is a chat panel in the Divi 5 builder that takes actions instead of filling one field. It can build a layout from a written brief, a screenshot, a URL or a set of reference images; add, edit, move and delete modules; apply your presets and variables; and, per Elegant Themes, “Create and publish pages, manage menus, Theme Builder templates, and Theme Options from the same chat”. It has an Ask mode that only answers and a Build mode that acts, site rules and reusable commands, subagents for big jobs and a library the vendor counts as 190+ skills. It needs Divi 5 and an active Divi AI subscription; “There is no free trial for the Divi AI Agent.”

Elegant Themes' own video for the agent is embedded on that page:
The AI Agent video titled “This changes everything.” on the official Elegant Themes YouTube channel (@elegantthemes), embedded on elegantthemes.com/ai-agent. It is the vendor's own presentation, not an independent test.
How the agent is billed

The agent's pricing is where Elegant Themes' marketing and its documents part ways. The agent page tells buyers that “One subscription covers unlimited AI usage for you and your team across the builder and WordPress admin.” The pricing cards, a few scrolls down the same page, say the unlimited generation has “No usage limits or restrictions (does not apply to AI Agent usage).” The agent's own FAQ explains: a Divi AI membership “includes a complimentary $5 in Agent spend each month”, Elegant Themes routes requests to model providers and adds “a small markup”, and “On average, generating an entire custom layout costs less than five cents.”

The Terms, revised on Sep 2, 2026, give the binding version. Elegant Themes “adds a markup to the underlying provider cost”, the price shown before a request governs it, prices for automatic model options are estimates, and “A single AI Agent request or task may require multiple model calls and may therefore incur charges for each call.” Spent wallet funds are final. The help center fills in the mechanics: the $5 “resets to $5 on your subscription's renewal date”, “Unused balance does not roll over”, purchased funds are used only after the monthly balance runs out, and models are served through OpenRouter. The FAQ's “as little as $7 per month” for Divi AI inside Divi Pro is not broken down on that page.

What a request costs: the markup in Elegant Themes' own picture
The agent page shows its model picker with per-million-token prices. Three of the models listed are Anthropic's, and Anthropic publishes its own prices, so the markup can be read off directly. In the picker image, Claude Haiku 4.5 costs $1.05 per million input tokens and $5.25 per million output tokens; Claude Sonnet 5 costs $2.10 and $10.50; Claude Opus 5 costs $5.25 and $26.25. Anthropic's API pricing page on Oct 26, 2026 listed the same models at $1 and $5, $2 and $10, and $5 and $25. Each picker price is exactly 5% higher. The image is marketing and the Terms let prices change, but it is a useful anchor for what “a small markup” means. If you use Claude, our Claude review covers those models.

To make that concrete, take an illustrative mid-sized request that sends 50,000 tokens of page context and instructions and gets 5,000 tokens back. This size is our assumption, not a measurement: real requests vary, and one task can trigger several model calls.
The help center's own advice matches the arithmetic: use Ask mode for questions, scope requests to a section, start fresh chats instead of growing one forever, and pick a cheaper model for sweeps. The default, Auto Value, optimizes for “The lowest cost per request”; Auto Premium uses “The most capable models available, regardless of price”. “The exact models behind each tier can change over time.”

Your content leaves your server. To answer, the agent sends prompts, page content and history to outside model providers: the Terms say Elegant Themes “may transmit your prompts, instructions, uploaded or selected content, relevant conversation history, and other context” and that “AI Providers may process this information under their own terms and policies.” Keep client confidential material out of agent prompts unless your client agrees. The Terms also disclaim any warranty on generated images and note that “Content that is generated by artificial intelligence may not be protected by copyright.” We have not reviewed the privacy terms of the individual model providers behind OpenRouter.

Install, activate, generate or pick a starter site, refine with presets, then hand over cleanly.
An illustrative sequence built from Elegant Themes' install guide, Quick Sites page, migration guide and AI Agent billing article, Oct 26, 2026, not a record of a JAVIS build.
The handover step is easy to forget. The help center advises that “logging out after a website is ready to be handed over to your client is highly recommended” so the client does not use your AI credit, and adds: “If your clients want to have access to the Divi AI Agent, they will need to purchase their own Divi AI subscription.”
The agent pauses before destructive actions, and you cannot loosen or tighten that rule.
An agent that can publish pages and edit menus needs brakes. Elegant Themes tags every agent action as Safe, Moderate or Destructive. Destructive actions always stop for an Approve or Reject click: trashing content, changing publish status, saving the page, editing menus and Theme Builder assignments, updating Theme Options, deleting library items and saving global variables or presets. Most everyday edits are not paused: “Most of what the Agent does is tagged Moderate, not Safe”, and those run immediately except for a short list such as creating a page or a Theme Builder template. The rules are fixed: “There is no toggle, setting, or option anywhere in Divi that changes which actions ask for approval, and no way to switch approvals off altogether.” Ask mode cannot change the site at all, and a “Restore to This Point” option undoes earlier agent steps.

| Agent risk level | What happens | Examples from the help center |
|---|---|---|
| Safe | Runs without asking | Reading page structure and settings |
| Moderate | Runs without asking, except a few fixed actions | Adding a module, changing a design setting; asks before creating a page or template |
| Destructive | Always asks first | Trash, publish status, saving the page, menus, Theme Options, global variables |

A free multi-site manager, partner hosting billed by the host, and a large add-on market Elegant Themes does not support.
Divi Dash is included with every membership and manages updates, themes, plugins, users and client details across all your WordPress sites from one screen, and Elegant Themes says it works with any theme. For an agency with dozens of client sites, that is real value in the $89 price.

Divi Hosting is a set of partner plans (SiteGround, Pressable, Flywheel and Cloudways on Oct 26, 2026) with Divi preinstalled. The Terms are clear that “All hosting is provided by third parties, which are responsible for the hosting services provided”, the host bills you separately, and Elegant Themes does not support hosting. If you are choosing a host, our FastComet review reads one host's prices and renewals the same way.

The Marketplace is where many sites get modules Divi lacks. The Terms set its rules: third-party products are sold “individually on a yearly subscription basis only”, must be released under the GPL, and “Elegant Themes provides no support for any third-party product offered through the Marketplace.” Before migrating to Divi 5, check each add-on's Divi 5 compatibility tag, as the migration guide advises.
| Piece | Billing | Who supports it |
|---|---|---|
| Divi, Extra, Bloom, Monarch, Divi Dash | In the membership | Elegant Themes |
| Divi AI, Cloud, VIP, Teams | Yearly or monthly | Elegant Themes |
| AI Agent model calls (providers via OpenRouter) | $5 a month, then AI Wallet | Elegant Themes |
| Marketplace add-ons (independent creators) | Yearly, per product | The creator |
| Divi Hosting (SiteGround, Pressable, Flywheel, Cloudways) | Billed by the host | The host |

Fourteen patched vulnerabilities on record, a cluster in 2026, and the reason an active licence matters.
Every popular WordPress builder collects security reports, and Divi is no exception. Patchstack's vulnerability database listed 14 patched Divi theme issues and none open on Oct 26, 2026. Most are stored cross-site scripting bugs that need a logged-in contributor account to exploit. Seven were published between Aug 20 and Sep 18, 2026, including one that Patchstack titles “Missing Authorization to Unauthenticated Arbitrary Registered Shortcode Execution” for Divi 5.0 to 5.11.1. Elegant Themes' own changelogs show the fixes: Divi 4.27.7 on May 12, 2026 carried five security updates, Divi 5.13 and 5.13.1 in September carried ten security and permission fixes between them, and 5.13.1 fixed an issue “that allowed authenticated contributors to execute arbitrary registered shortcodes through two Visual Builder AJAX endpoints”. Patchstack's page also labels Divi “No VDP”, meaning no vulnerability disclosure program is registered with Patchstack.

| Date | Fix in Elegant Themes' changelog | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| May 12, 2026 | Divi 4.27.7: five security updates (stored XSS, unsafe redirects, raw HTML in legacy dynamic content, a blind SSRF) | Divi 4 sites need 4.27.7 or later |
| Sep 11, 2026 | Divi 5.13: several security and permission fixes, including Divi Cloud token refresh and layout export issues | Divi 5 sites need 5.13 or later |
| Sep 18, 2026 | Divi 5.13.1: contributor shortcode execution, unsanitized image URLs, an Audio module XSS | Divi 5 sites need 5.13.1 or later |
From the Divi 4 changelog (elegantthemes.com/api/changelog/divi.txt) and the help center's “Divi 5 Update Status”, as of Oct 26, 2026.
Why this argues for lifetime or an active licence. Updates arrive through the WordPress updater only while your membership is active; after a yearly plan lapses, Divi keeps running but the 2026 fixes above would not install themselves. If you build sites for clients on a yearly plan, either keep renewing or move to lifetime, and keep the Divi 4 or Divi 5 branch current. Most of these bugs need a contributor login, so limiting who has accounts on a site also lowers the risk.
Access you grant Elegant Themes. Support can log into your WordPress admin through Divi's remote access system, which Elegant Themes describes as giving the team “limited access to your WordPress admin panel with a click of a button”. The Divi 4 changelog for 4.27.5 (Dec 4, 2025) reads: “Changed elegant_themes_support elevated role to administrator.” Treat remote access like any admin account: enable it for a ticket and switch it off afterwards. On the account side, Elegant Themes offers two-factor authentication and device linking for the members area, worth turning on because one account holds every client's API keys and, now, a prepaid AI wallet.

WordPress freelancers and small agencies who build many sites and will keep their licence current.
- Freelancers and agencies building many WordPress sites
- Designers who prefer visual editing to code
- Buyers who want a one-time lifetime licence
- Teams that will use presets and variables for consistency
- Site owners who value fast support chat
- Agencies managing many sites in Divi Dash
- Developers who want minimal markup and full code control
- Owners of complex Divi 4 sites with many old add-ons
- Anyone expecting the AI Agent to be unlimited
- One-site owners who never want to manage WordPress
- Buyers who need strong contractual remedies
- Projects that must keep client content away from AI providers
Likely plan by work pattern: a single business site fits Divi yearly or lifetime; a freelancer building client sites fits Divi Lifetime, adding Divi AI only if copywriting and images save real hours; a team that wants AI, a shared cloud library and fast support fits Divi Pro.
Eight things to weigh before you commit.
The AI Agent gets $5 a month; beyond that you pay per token, and spent funds are not refundable.
“Unlimited” AI and three different Divi Pro savings figures across the vendor's pages.
41 releases in eight months; the newest low-star reviews center on bugs and the new interface.
Divi 4 to 5 needs staging, a backup and Divi 5-ready add-ons.
One legacy module loads the Divi 4 framework for the whole page.
Security fixes stop when a yearly plan lapses.
$100 liability cap, arbitration in San Francisco, one-year claim limit.
The published test method dates from Aug 10, 2021.
Priced from each vendor's own page on Oct 26, 2026; feature sets differ, so these are not like-for-like.
Divi's pricing page has its own comparison: “Divi Is 55% To 96% Cheaper Than The Competition”, with a chart of one-year and ten-year costs. Against each competitor's own pricing page on the same day, two of its figures match (Bricks and Breakdance), one is out of date in the competitor's favor (Beaver Builder's unlimited plan now costs $546 a year, not $199), and one describes a plan that is not on Elementor's pricing page (Elementor “1,000 Sites” at $399; Elementor's page showed an unlimited-site One Agency plan at $432 for the first year, renewing at $540). We did not price Avada or Visual Composer.

| Builder | Divi's chart, 1 year | Vendor's own page, Oct 26, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Bricks | $249, unlimited sites | Agency, unlimited: $249 a year; Ultimate lifetime $599. Matches |
| Breakdance | $199, unlimited sites | Pro, unlimited: $199.99 a year, “Soon to be $399.99”. Matches for now |
| Beaver Builder | $199, unlimited sites | Unlimited plan: $546 a year; Professional, 50 sites: $299. Out of date |
| Elementor | $399 for 1,000 sites | No 1,000-site plan shown; Expert, 25 sites: $204; One Agency, unlimited: $432 first year, then $540 |

| If you need | Look at | Unlimited sites | Lifetime | What differs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A visual builder plus theme, lowest paid unlimited price here | Divi | $89/yr | $249 | AI and cloud extra; 30-day refund |
| A developer-leaning builder with lean output | Bricks | $249/yr | $599 | 60-day money-back guarantee; local and staging sites free |
| A free tier to start, Pro later | Breakdance | $199.99/yr | None shown | Free plan on unlimited sites with 80 elements; 60-day refund |
| The builder W3Techs finds on the most WordPress sites | Elementor One Agency | $432 then $540/yr | None shown | Monthly credits for AI and site tools; free core plugin |
| A long-running, stable plugin | Beaver Builder | $546/yr | None shown | White labeling, multisite; 30-day refund |
| A site generated from a prompt, no WordPress | Lovable, v0 | See reviews | No | Lovable · v0 |

How to read this. On licence cost for many sites, Divi is hard to undercut among the builders priced here, especially the $249 lifetime option; only Bricks offers a lifetime deal, at $599. Elementor costs far more for unlimited sites but bundles credits for AI and site tools, and its free core plugin, with 10,000,000+ active installs on WordPress.org, is the builder W3Techs detects on the most WordPress sites. Developers who care most about lean markup tend to look at Bricks and Breakdance first. And if you would rather not run WordPress at all, AI app builders such as Lovable, Bolt.new and v0 generate sites from a prompt with hosting included, at the price of WordPress's plugin ecosystem.

JAVIS has not joined Elegant Themes' affiliate program, so every Elegant Themes link here goes straight to elegantthemes.com, its pricing page, its Terms of Service or its help center, without tracking parameters. The score and the drawbacks would be the same either way.
How this review was put together: Elegant Themes' public pricing, product and legal pages, help center, changelogs, blog and status page; competitor pricing pages; Trustpilot, Hacker News, Patchstack, W3Techs, WordPress.org and Anthropic's API pricing page; all as of Oct 26, 2026. Questions people ask before buying Divi
How much does Divi cost in 2026?
Divi is $89 a year or $249 once for lifetime access. Divi Pro, which adds Divi AI, Divi Cloud, Divi VIP and four Divi Teams seats, is $277 a year, or $297 for lifetime Divi plus $212 a year for the services. Prices as of Oct 26, 2026, in US dollars.
Can I use Divi on unlimited websites?
Yes. Every plan, yearly or lifetime, covers unlimited websites for you and your clients, and you can reuse the same API key or create one per site.
Is Divi AI unlimited?
Text, image, code and layout generation inside the builder is unlimited under a fair use policy. The AI Agent is not: it includes $5 of usage a month, which resets on your renewal date and does not roll over, and further use is paid from a prepaid AI Wallet at per-token prices.
What happens if I cancel?
Your account stays active to the end of the paid year. After that you lose updates, support and downloads, but sites you built keep running with the version you have. Security fixes stop arriving, so keep a licence active on client sites.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 30 days of a purchase or a renewal, no questions asked; ask through support chat or email, because cancelling alone does not trigger a refund. Money already spent from the AI Wallet is not refundable.
Should I move my Divi 4 site to Divi 5?
Not before testing. Elegant Themes' guide says to back up, migrate a staging copy, and check that every third-party Divi module is Divi 5 compatible. Divi 4 is supported for at least 12 months after Feb 26, 2026, per the guide updated in September 2026.
Is Divi on WordPress.org?
No. Divi is GPL-licensed but distributed from your Elegant Themes account, with updates delivered through an API key while your membership is active.

JAVIS Fit Score (71/100): an editorial composite scored out of 20 on five criteria. Price clarity 12: plain yearly and lifetime prices and unlimited sites, but three different Divi Pro savings figures, an “unlimited” AI pitch next to a metered agent, a $888 value the published prices do not add up to, and an unclear Lifetime + Pro first-year charge. Capability 17: a rebuilt Divi 5 builder with presets, variables, grid, loops and a Theme Builder, Quick Sites, an AI agent with approvals, Divi Dash and a large add-on market; minus young Divi 5 code and add-ons still catching up. Independent evidence 13: 4.7 on Trustpilot from 25,042 reviews, but mostly support reviews with no recent invitations, recent low-star reviews about Divi 5, developer criticism on Hacker News and no reliable independent usage figure. Terms and data control 12: 30-day refunds including renewals, keep-forever use after cancelling, GPL code and no site limits; minus a $100 liability cap, mandatory arbitration, non-refundable AI spend and prompts sent to third-party AI providers. Cost and fit 17: the lowest paid unlimited-site licence among the builders priced here and a $249 lifetime option, with agent usage the open-ended cost. It is judgment, not a measurement.
What this review does not cover: real builder and page speed, AI output quality, support response times, the Extra theme, Bloom and Monarch in depth, Divi Hosting partner plans, the Marketplace add-ons themselves and how fair use is enforced for Divi AI.
