| Our verdict | WP Engine's Essential plan costs $35 a month for one site, or $336 for the first year on annual billing; it is a well-equipped managed WordPress host with offsite daily backups kept 30 to 60 days, staging and development copies, 24/7 chat support and strong developer tools, but the $336 includes a first-year coupon (regular $420 a year), the 60-day money-back guarantee left the plans page in February 2026, the Terms make all remaining fees due on early exit, the firewall and plugin auto-updates are add-ons, and its lawsuit with Automattic heads to a jury in October 2027. | Elementor's core WordPress builder is free and Pro costs $60 to $204 a year for 1 to 25 sites; it is the most widely used WordPress builder by W3Techs' count, but Pro features stop when a license lapses, One ($180, then $228 a year) runs on monthly credits that do not roll over, Elementor Host (from $180 a year) excludes a Pro license, and 2026 brought Editor V4 complaints and three serious security fixes. |
